OZBeat AI participated in the first in-person meeting of the DDEX Artificial Intelligence Working Group in Nashville, bringing together more than 100 participants from leading music companies, technology providers, AI companies and industry organisations around the world.
As a Full Member of DDEX, OZBeat AI represented Australia's music-tech sector in the discussions, contributing its experience in AI music identification, structured disclosure and metadata development.
1. OZBeat Presents ISRC-AAM-CID Framework
OZBeat AI Co-Founder Steve Zhang delivered a featured presentation titled "ISRC-AAM-CID: A Framework for Music Identity, AI Disclosure and Trust."
The presentation introduced OZBeat's work on the ISRC-AAM-CID framework, including its AI Attribution Model (AAM), which provides a structured approach to describing different levels and types of AI involvement in music creation.
Steve also shared OZBeat's practical experience in implementing the framework through the Australian AI Music Alliance and outlined several areas being explored for its next stage of development, including more granular and structured AI disclosure, interoperability with existing music identifiers and metadata standards, provenance and evidence, and connections across recording, work and party information.
2. OZBeat's Structured and Granular Approach Highlighted
OZBeat's approach was referenced multiple times during the Working Group discussions, particularly for its focus on moving AI disclosure beyond a simple binary "AI / non-AI" label toward more structured, granular and modular metadata describing how AI contributes to music creation.
Dr Howie Singer, a leading music technology expert, NYU Music Business professor and former Senior Vice President & Chief Strategic Technologist at Warner Music Group, highlighted OZBeat's approach during the discussions. Singer has spent decades working at the intersection of music and technology and currently advises on areas including artificial intelligence, streaming data analytics and content authenticity.
The DDEX Working Group discussions also highlighted OZBeat's distinctive use of the AAM scoring and tiered framework, which places music along a spectrum of AI involvement while supporting more detailed contribution-level information. 3. From Industry Discussion to ISRC-AAM-CID 2.0
The Nashville meeting provided valuable discussion across AI disclosure, metadata, identification, provenance and the communication of AI-related information throughout the music value chain.
For OZBeat, the meeting marks the beginning of the next phase of our work. We will continue contributing to the DDEX AI Working Group, incorporating insights from the Nashville discussions and broader industry developments into the evolution of our framework.
OZBeat will now advance the development of ISRC-AAM-CID 2.0, with a stronger focus on interoperability, structured AI contribution disclosure, provenance and evidence — including alignment with content authenticity work such as C2PA — and with the emerging international music-data ecosystem.
As AI becomes increasingly embedded in music creation, we believe the industry will need more than a simple AI label. It will need a trusted and interoperable way to communicate where AI was used, how it contributed, and what evidence supports that disclosure.
That is the direction we are continuing to explore with ISRC-AAM-CID.
