OZBeat AI to Present ISRC-AAM-CID at DDEX AI Working Group Meeting in Nashville

OZBeat AI will participate in the DDEX AI Working Group meeting in Nashville, contributing to discussions around AI disclosure, music metadata, and how AI-related information can be structured and communicated across the music ecosystem.

OZBeat AI Co-Founder Steve Zhang will participate in the upcoming DDEX AI Working Group meeting in Nashville on 9 September 2026, where he will present the ISRC-AAM-CID framework and share practical learnings from its implementation in AI-assisted music registration and disclosure.

DDEX is an international standards-setting organisation focused on improving the exchange of data and information across the digital music value chain. Its AI Working Group is examining the metadata requirements for communicating information about AI-generated music. DDEX has also begun incorporating AI-related information into its existing standards and is continuing to explore how information about AI involvement can move through the music supply chain.

OZBeat AI became a Full Member of DDEX in 2026, joining a global membership that includes Apple, Amazon, Google, Spotify, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group, as well as leading organisations across music publishing, rights management and music technology.

From AI Labelling to Structured Music Data

First published in February 2025 by the Australian AI Music Alliance and OZBeat AI, ISRC-AAM-CID explores how information about AI involvement can be represented alongside established music identity and metadata systems.

As generative AI makes music creation faster and more accessible, the ability to understand how a piece of music was created becomes increasingly important.

Different parts of the music ecosystem need that information for different reasons. Creators may want to clearly communicate their human contribution and use of AI. Listeners may want greater transparency about what they are hearing. Labels, distributors, DSPs, rights organisations and chart operators may require structured information to support their own rights, policy, eligibility and risk decisions.

For the standards ecosystem, this leads to a more fundamental question: what AI-related information needs to exist, how should it be structured, and how should it travel through the music supply chain?

This is the question at the centre of OZBeat AI's presentation in Nashville.

Introducing ISRC-AAM-CID

The framework brings together three complementary concepts.

  • ISRC provides the established identity of the Sound Recording.
  • AAM — AI Application in Music provides a structured method for describing AI involvement across different creative and production roles, such as composition, lyrics, production, vocals, instrumentation, recording, mixing and mastering.
  • CID and file-level references explore how disclosure records can be associated with the specific digital content to which they relate.

The current direction of the framework is to explore how these information layers can operate alongside existing music infrastructure. You can register an AI-assisted work or look up an existing ISRC-AAM-CID record at any time.

From a Framework to Real-World Implementation

Since its initial publication, ISRC-AAM-CID has moved beyond a conceptual model into an operational registration system.

More than 1,600 AI-assisted music works have been registered through the system. The framework has also been applied across a growing ecosystem of practical use cases, including more than 200 music showcases and competitions, eight AI music charts, and Artiswap, OZBeat AI's marketplace for AI-assisted creative works.

These real-world applications have provided practical insights into how AI disclosure can work across music registration, discovery, promotion and commercial use.

Recent development has focused on making disclosure increasingly granular, structured and interoperable, leading to the release of the ISRC-AAM-CID 2.0 Discussion Draft.

The work is also increasingly intersecting with standards initiatives such as DDEX for music-industry data exchange and C2PA for digital content provenance — OZBeat AI is also a C2PA Contributor Member.

Bringing Implementation Experience Into the Standards Conversation

The Nashville presentation is intended to share what OZBeat AI has learned from operating the framework in practice, while contributing questions that require broader industry discussion.

These include how granular AI disclosure should become, which information should travel directly through the music supply chain, which information may be better maintained through external references, and what forms of provenance or supporting evidence can meaningfully strengthen an AI-use declaration.

The presentation also marks an important step in the evolution of ISRC-AAM-CID: from an independently developed framework and operational implementation toward broader technical discussion with the international music standards community.
